The CO2e impact for diesel is approximately 2.8255kgCO2/L of diesel however in eToolLCD this figure is about 3.5 times higher at about 9.9kgCO2e (based on NSW v14 grids). Is there an explanation for this?
Turns out that generator efficiency can significantly affect the GWP impact for diesel generators. The graph here illustrates the range of efficiencies for different sized generators at different loads.
