In the UK concrete is often specified with two strength grades e.g. C32/40. Where I believe 32 is the strength (in N/mm2 or MPa) of a standard cylinder and 40 is the strength of a standard cube at 28 days. The concrete materials in etool just show one e.g. XX MPa – so which is it the standard cylinder or standard cube?
Good question! According to AusLCI, the concrete strength in the dataset is based on the Australian Standards method of testing which uses the cylinder strength method for most concrete products. Only some products like grout are based on cube strength.
