Emissions Factors

  • Hi there,

Is it possible to get the emissions factor of a material by simply dividing the GWP by the mass?

In the training it mentions the data used within eTool is provided by Life Cycle Strategies and is predominantly the AusLCI data with an EcoInvent shadow database. I also know eTool uses various algorithms to achieve the results so I doubt its that simple.

If it’s not possible to get the emissions factor this way it would be great to know why.

    Many thanks,

    Calum

    Hi Calum,

I would recommend that you use the analysis tool to scrutinize your data. This way, you will be able to see the total impact for each module. To analyze the impact of the material, perhaps adding 1 unit (ton, kg, or m3, etc.) of the specific material could help obtain the total impact in modules A1-A3 (product stage).
