Grid Emissions Factor

  • Could you please list all additional impacts in grid factors included on eTool, and why they are different to the National Greenhouse Accounts Factors figures?

For example, The National Greenhouse Accounts Factors 2022 (AUS) for NWIS states an electricity grid carbon factor of kgCO2e/kWh 0.58 with no transmission and distribution losses included. However using the Support Post https://support.etoollcd.com/index.php/forums/topic/what-is-the-grid-carbon-factor/, we calculate a grid factor of 0.62 for the AU WA NWIS (Pilbara) Business 2020 grid. For context, we are using V18.

If transmission and distribution losses are intrinsically included in the back-end calculations of these grid factors, is there a way to quantify those losses, or remove them from the grid factor to align them with the National Greenhouse Accounts Factors?

    Thank you for your assistance
