life cycle costing – scaling costs

I’ve had a few issues in the post with using cost scaling to match my components capital costs with our cost plan. These have mostly been fixed but occasionally I find the odd one that doesn’t work.

The scaling costs tab is set at 0 and no matter what figures you manually insert it always goes back to zero.
Can you help please?
Hi Colin,
Looks like you’re only able to scale costs for inputs that have been assigned to the ‘Construction & Replacement’ life cycle stage. This template is not considered an initial capital cost hence why you can’t scale costs. If you want to be able to scale the cost for this particular template, you’ll have to assign the inputs to the ‘Construction & Replacement’ life cycle stage, which means the GWP impacts will be reported under the construction stage rather than maintenance/cleaning stage. You might want to discuss this with a BRE assessor whether this option is appropriate for your situation.
Dear all,
I have a similar situation to Collin. My problem is I can´t scale operational costs such as energy and water consumption. This adjustment is key in our study since the values from the IMPACT database are highly different from the study. I am working on an Commercial building LCC study for BREEAM. Could you please help me with this? We used the defaul electricity grid from IMPACT database.

Hi Joana,
Apologies for the late reply. I believe our software team have been working diligently on improving the LCC functionality in eToolLCD. I think V5.9.5 of the software released on 20/05/2021 contains some LCC improvements with more in the pipeline!
