Profile Diameter for Pipe Material Quantity Calculations

  • Hello,

When selecting ‘pipe’ for a material quantity calculation, the two quantities to input are ‘Profile Diameter’ and ‘Profile Thickness’. Does the ‘Profile Diameter’ need to include the thickness? I.e. is the diameter the diameter of the internal pipe, or the diameter of the whole thing including thickness of pipe?

    Thanks!

    Hi James,

Apologies that it’s not very clear in the software, it needs to be relabeled. The ‘Profile Diameter’ should really say ‘Midpoint Diameter’ of the pipe (i.e. midpoint between the inner and outer diameter). I hope that answers your question.

    Midpoint Diameter for Pipe

Please note that the pipe inputs have now been updated to be much clearer with the latest software release.
