Nested Templates

  • What is the purpose of the nested templates?

Great question! The ability to nest templates is really a method of organising your data in a way that is also dynamically linked to each other depending on how you structure & define each input/template. For example, let’s say you create a master template that is for 1m3 of 50MPa concrete with 4% reinforcement (by volume). Within this Master template there is a nested template for 0.96m3 of 50Mpa concrete and another nested template for 316kg of reinforcement bars to work out to 1m3 of this concrete mix. Because these nested templates have been set within these parameters, when you add this master template into your design, eTool will automatically scale up or down every input (assembly & material inputs) within this master template, including the nested ones, to the associated ratios as per the 4% reinforcement specifications depending on the template quantity you’ve entered in the Master template.

For example, when you add 500m3 of this master template into your Design, the template will automatically will give you 480m3 of 50MPa concrete & 158000kg of reo steel based the quantities that each nested template has been added to the master template. eTool will recognise those ratios & automatically scale that for you accordingly.
