BIM Motivation (why we need this feature): Improve BIM LCA Functionality. As a user, I would like to align my environmental and 3D parametric information. I would like this information to be sharable and accessible initially in Revit but potentially in other tools. This would streamline imports (families wold already be recognised during import) and progress interoperability and collaboration. Potential for significant reduction in rework for teams (via shared templates) and the eToolLCD community (via global tempaltes), Which regions need the feature?: Global, Which projects types does the feature support?: Buildings, Infrastructure, Fit Outs, Landscaping, Which ratings systems require the feature?: Not specific to a rating system would simple help deliver faster LCAs and/or more real time design feedback.,

Use of 3D Design tools would benefit from being able to use the eTool Template Library to store their parametric components. This would be particularly useful coupled with the “Share Templates with my Organisation” as organisations could build libraries of BIM components they could then share online within their team. The additional parametric information within eTool would also potentially increase accuracy of the templates as a reconciliation of materials could be conducted.
