Improve search functionality

Motivation (why we need this feature): To make the search function more efficient and user friendly., Which regions need the feature?: Global, Which projects types does the feature support?: Buildings, Infrastructure, Fit Outs, Landscaping, Other, Which ratings systems require the feature?: N/A,

Search whether it’s for templates or recommendations is a bit too sensitive with what is being typed. It would be nice to suggest results even if the words typed are not in the same sequence. For example when typing “water ef” it could suggest both “water efficient appliances” and “efficient water appliances”. This can be quite important in materials like concrete elements where you have many variable to type like, grade, reinforcement, GGBS, PFA etc.

A similar functionality would be nice when searching for templates at the project space. In this case users would be able to add more than one keywords as currently the algorithm looks for exact matches only.

In the library, If the search field was replaced by the magnifying glass functionality at the bottom left it would probably make searching faster and easier. This way the user can add several keywords and also bring in other parameters as well like LCI source etc. It ‘s similar with filtering each parameter individually but much faster as everything is in one place. Unfortunately where it is at the moment doesn’t make quite noticeable.
